As far as places to visit go it doesn’t get much better than Ecuador! With about a 12 hour bus ride in any direction you can be at the beach, in the mountains, or in the jungle. The Ecuadorian people are exceeding nice, and love to help non-native Spanish speakers work on their language skills.

In the 2 months I lived and travelled in Ecuador I became very accustomed to the locals’ way of life, and learned a very valuable skill: patience. Things do not happen fast in this country, and patience is something that you have to have to survive, and avoid driving yourself crazy.

Between meeting old friends, making new friends, and living as the locals do I feel that I really got a feel for the Ecuadorian culture and way of life.

If you are looking for a place to simply relax, or to squeeze as many activities as you possibly can into a trip then Ecuador is the place for you!
