Singapore is one of those places where you really do need to make a stopover. I was on my way from Australia to Sri Lanka and the flights worked out perfectly. There was even enough time for a few big nights out with some friends from Australia and Canada.

DO: Stay in Little India to better experience the local culture, and save money on accommodation. Also, head over to the Marina Bay Sands. When you arrive convince the bellboy to give you an expired room key (this will give you access to the pool and spa). The only other way into the pool and spa is to stay at the hotel, which is quite expensive.

DRINK: Stop by the Raffles Hotel to have the Original Singapore Sling. AMAZING!

TIPS: Do not chew gum, and if you do, avoid from spitting it on the ground.
