I have been to Thailand a few times, and each time is better than before. Its a great starting and ending point for a Southeast Asia trip. I cannot really remember much of the language, but if you tell the locals that you love/respect the King they will be your friend for life.

DON’T: The Buddha tour in Bangkok is a complete sham. My friend and I went on the 6 hour tuk-tuk journey through the crazy streets of Bangkok to look at different Buddhas, but quickly found out that the driver would stop at all of his friends shops to try and get us to purchase items such as: gems, leather, and high fashion. We were not in the market for any of these.

DO: Go to the floating-markets in Bangkok. We never made it because we had a few too many Singha beers the evening before, but we heard it is amazing.
