Mt. Waterman does not get a lot of snow, but when it does it is such a great little mountain! It is Southern California’s true ‘local’ ski resort. There is nothing pretentious about the place, and they make it clear on their website. My advice would be to keep a close eye on the local weather forecasts and only go right after a large storm. If it get really windy, which happens frequently in this region, you may want to postpone you day trip because the fresh snow will most likely be blown off of the open runs.

BRING: Pack a lunch and bring your own beers for the day. There is a little snack bar at the mountain, but it is pretty limited.
